Built in Canada, for Canadians
List49 started with a simple idea: Canadians deserve a fair, reasonable online classifed marketplace that’s truly their own and Canada Strong.
We’re an independent, Canadian-owned and operated business, built from the ground up near the geographic center of Canada, in Winnipeg. No head office overseas, no algorithms designed around someone else’s priorities. Just a straightforward, honest marketplace for buying, selling, hiring, and finding services, coast to coast.
What We’re Building
List49 is a national classifieds marketplace — a place to list vehicles, find an apartment, hire a plumber, post a job, or sell your old couch, all in one place, organized by province so you can find what’s actually near you.
We believe a good marketplace comes down to a few simple things:
- Trust — knowing who you’re dealing with, backed by verification and reviews
- Fairness — transparent pricing, no surprise fees, no games
- Respect for your privacy — we don’t sell your data, full stop
- A progressive, evolving platform — we are continuously working on new ideas and tools that improve user experience for all.
Hosted in Canada, Data Stays in Canada
Where your data lives matters. List49 is proudly hosted in Canada by a trusted, secure Canadian hosting provider — your information stays on Canadian servers, under Canadian privacy standards, the whole way through. (That’s an affiliate link to our hosting provider — using it doesn’t cost you anything, and it supports List49 directly.)
Why “List49”?
Canada is home to the 49th parallel — the line that’s long defined our border and, in some ways, our identity. List49 is our way of building something proudly, distinctly Canadian: a home-grown alternative, made for the way Canadians actually buy and sell.
Where We’re Headed
We’re just getting started. As List49 grows, we’re committed to staying true to what got us here — building thoughtfully, prioritizing trust and safety, and creating tools that genuinely help Canadians connect, buy, and sell with confidence.
Thanks for being part of it.
